Very nice deer and a true trophy.
My first buck was mounted also, it was a 1 1/2 year old 6-pointer and always brings me back to MY special day.
So you need not make an excuse about your deer's size, HE'S A BEUTY!!![&:]

RE: Got my mount back from 11/27/07
No little ones here. I'm still in college. I keep the guns locked up most of the time just put that up there for the pic so it would be clear what the legs sticking out were for and that is the gun I shot the deer with except I have a slug barrel but I was lazy and didn't want to change barrels just for the pics. The only thing about the mount is the deer now has a "mane" which is actually extra skin on the cape that makes the hair stick up to look like it has a mane because he didn't get a big enough form but I didn't want to mess around with it since it had already been 16 months and I was tired of waiting and just wanted my deer back. I won't be going back to him anymore because he is not very reliable. I've only been hunting for 6 years and this was my 5th deer but first buck. Shot another buck this year but it was a small buck again and didn't want to pay the money to get it mounted so I did a european mount myself. I have gotten a deer every year but I am hoping this fall that I can shoot a bigger buck. I'm proud of this buck and every deer I have shot. They might not be the biggest but we have a lot of pressure in our area and the bucks hardly ever make it past 2.5 years.
