Default Information on the Remnington 660 .350 Remington Magnum

What can anyone tell me about the .350 Remington Magnum? I really love the old Remington 660. I have had one for 30 years in 6mm Remington. Love the gun but want something bigger. They chamber this in .308 Win but is quite rare. The .350's are not hard to find. I was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with the .350 Rem Mag? Use it for deer and possibly if I went out west. Was told that this caliber is almost like the .300WSM of today? Would it be a good deer caliber or is it too much overkill? Also what would the effective range be?

its very much like the 35 whelen, but the 600 series is a lighter gun, so you will feel a little more kick. They are making the model 7 I believe in 350 rem mag also now.

for Alabama whitetails would you reccomend the .350 or the .308? In the 660 of course.

I own what is essentially the same gun, it's the Remington Model 673, in .308 Win, also built off of the Model 7 action, but with a beechwood stock.

It doesn't recoil bad at all in .308, and I can testify that the action is smooth enough, trigger needs to be adjusted down to 3 lbs, though, it's too heavy right now. I've shot one deer with it, did the job well. I once hit a target pin from 100 yards away, so they make the barrels accurate, I assume.
