Just a comment (not to be added to your paper), it amazes me how many lefties claim to be soooo intelectual and think that they are so well read and educated, but when it comes down to it, they really do not have one viable reason to dislike hunting aside from the killing. of course when they try to argue a good point and you just state some real facts that disprove there opinions they get all pissed off about it.

Fantastic, just fantastic. If that essay doesn't convince her, nothing will. You just might have to dump the gut pile in her driveway then

Thanks for all the input fellas! Revisions have been made based on some of your opinions and recommendations. If you have the time, please re-read it and tell me what you think. Thanks!

I'm not at all justifying people leaving deer meat in the timber, but how, in the end, is it any different than people leaving a plate half full of food to be thrown away at dinner. I think if everyone hunted there would be a LOT less waste and people would respect and value their meals a lot more.
What people need to realize is that hunters don't necessarily hunt because we enjoykilling animals, wehunt because we love the outdoors and it reminds us of how life once was.
There's nothing on the face of this earth that can clense the soul like a day out in the timber just enjoying the sounds and sights of nature.

I did not read all you wrote, but some commenters mentioned the absence of natural predators leading to overpopulation and disease.
WTH are humans, if not a natural predator???????? I get tired of the "Greenies" that think humans are not a natural part of the ecosystem. Where did we come from, outer space???
So to answer your question about what to add, if you did not do so already, I would stress that humans have hunted since humans have been human. If our ancestors did not hunt, there would be no anti-hunters today, because humans would have died out. We hunt now more for recreation than a subsistence need, but all my venison gets eaten.
