RE: Oldest gurl wit a doe
oh...now I gotta give the details....
We were walking down a set of railroad tracks and I said to her that "...ya don't see deer all the time so we might not this morning " and since we got out late I wasn't sure the "Magic Bean Field" would produce. So we get to the crossing and I scramble up the embankment and see 3 deer comming straight at us...wind in our face so I got in the high grass and helped her up.
She was only using a single shot 20ga. so I wanted the deer to come closer....since they were about 85 yards out we could watch them for a while. Then my heart sank.
At about 70 yards they started to angle twards the other side of the field with out any way for us to move or re-set...so I told her to put the ball sight on her back...lift a hair and let'er fly...
This was so impressive....
She got up on one knee and shouldered her gun....clicked off the safety and pulled the hammer back real slow. Then I heard her count to three and slowly breathe out and then ...
...*BOOM*
...AND THE DOE DROPPED IN ITS TRACKS!!
She spined it and it never moved.....and I paced it out and had to range it just to be sure but she took it at 65 yards....only her 10th time ever shooting a gun.....first time at a live target!!
I am one proud pappa....
