Default Where should I hunt? (Please read)

Well guys where I hunt in Ruston Louisiana its time for rut.....Im leaving on the 22nd and leaving the 28th thats gives me plenty of time to hunt....last year I killed a nice 9 point in the bottom (its swampy and its in the bottom ofthe woods) And also last year with my cousin we saw the biggest buck I have ever seen (on our lease) We were in this box stand where there are 2 shooting lanes with woods around us. Each year atleast 3 ppl kill a buck in the bottom and its a very interesting hunt u never know what ur going to see. And im wondering which place should I spend the majority of my time? Should I wait for that nice buck I saw last year? Or should I hunt in the bottom thats usually promising during the rut? No doubt about it im going to hunt both but which ones in the morning and in the afternoon? The are both very good in the morning. It depends any advice? Safe Hunting to u guys and good luck

Personally, I would go for the swamp in the morning. You may se more deer on the mover from your stand in the afternoon. It's just my opinion though. Good luck to you!

Being a fellow LA hunter, (jackson parish) I would say hunt the bottom in the mornings and the reason being is that If does are feeding on acorns during the night you're more likely to catch a good buck trailing those does after daylight. In the evening on a bottom area with acorns, you gamble on how long before dark they'll start moving. Although there never is any absolutes, I'm sure plenty of good deer are killed in bottom areas in the evening. I would probably mix it up a little bit, and do more a.m.'s then p.m.s. But there is one exception, if you have a place where you know without a doubt their bedding area is very close to some acorns in a bottom area then definitely p.m.s can be just as good as a.m.s. Also, when things heat up hot and heavy with the does coming in heat mid afternoons are good like 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at any of your stand sites no matter the terrain.

Thanks for the advice guys!! Im pretty sure im going to the bottom in the morning the only reason I wouldnt
1. Since ur in the bottom its hard to see and there is woods everywhere and that would be kinda hard with me hunting alone (take in mind that I haven't been hunting by self for that long)
2. Its hard getting in there.......(if my dad dropped my off that would be a diffrent matter.
3. Its frikin creepy down there in the dark!
but other then that stuff i will probly end up going down there lol Hey! it could be worth it!
Once again thx for the advice.
