RE: No Stand
I hunt from the ground in certain areas as well. Mostly becuase we own 440 acres in the Michigan UP surrounded by State land and can move around. I like to stalk around until a find a good spot and then set up. I use a simple tree seat as it is not as bulky to carry around all day like a climber. The link below might help to explain the seat I am talking about. These seem to keep your butt off the cold wet ground as well. There is always plenty of trees around. Hunting from the ground is fun, I keep my movement down and try to coordinate everything with the wind and topo maps.

RE: No Stand
don't be worried about spookin' deer with a blind. igot the ameristep outhouse from a guy i work with and it works great. i don't do much to brush it in and i have deer within 20yds. you can move around without gettin' busted as easily and the deer never know what just hit them...
