Sighting in Shotgun
Hey going to grab some ammunition to sight in my new Mossberg 500 pump and I wanted your opinion on weather or not I should sight the gun in with the ammo i plan on using for deer or should i sight in with cheaper sabbot slugs. Also I want to check my pattern for turkey as well should I use the ammo I will hunt with or should I go cheap to sight it in.
Ammo I plan to use for turkey and deer:
XP3 Sabot Shotgun Slug
Xtended Range HD Turkey

Same ammo on the range as you hunt with
Do you have a rifled barrel for that shotgun? If you do great, if you don't then don't use sabots use regular rifled slugs, either way sight in to be 2-1/2" high at 50 yards
Those are great turkey loads, which number are you using? I like #5s, shoot your target at 20, 30, 40, 50 yards

Use the ammo you will hunt with. My dad has the same shotgun with the rifled barrel. The Hornady SSTs shot well in it. The Remington copper sabots were all over the map.
