RE: Hunting Clubs?
I've been in a couple of great clubs, full of good memories, and then there are those you wish you had never seen. I'm in 1 club now, 5 members on 1400 acres. I also own some land and have about 10000 acres of private owned land I can hunt all I want, most of it isn't hunted by more than 1 or 2 people.

Our club consists of 4 members and our wives and kids. Our lease is 500 acres so there is plenty of room for all of us to hunt. I dont like to be crowded and all of us have been friends since highschool. We built cabins up there several years ago. Its a great place to be.

RE: Hunting Clubs?
You guys don't knowhow lucky you are... I was lucky enough to be in a club of only 8-10 guys on roughly 1500 acres for about ten years. Although it was $1000-$1200 per year, plus monthly club house rent which was another $75 year around it was heaven. It finally ended 3 years ago and I have yet to find a club that interest me here in SE Va. The majority of clubs are dog clubs, have from 50-70 members, maybe 2500 acres if they are lucky and dues start at $450 and go up.Many start at $1000 annually and still have the large membership. It's not the money as much as the crowd. Because I have tasted what you guys have I just can't make myself get involved in large groups with limited land. I have visited with some of the big clubs and theres always drama, someone has to be a knuckle head, typically a bit too much alcohol for me, and thats just not why I hunt. Take good care of what you guys have. Once it gone you're ruined....
