Scent free oil for deer hunting
I found some scent free mineral oil in the pharmacy section. I won't go into any details about what it is intended for, but I carried a small eye dropper full to take squeaks out of my deer stands. Does anyone know if this product can be used on the surface of a rifle or on a bow for lubrication and to help prevent rust?

Scent free to us ain't scent free to a deer, they pick up on any foreign odor no matter how slight. If you're up a tree they're far less likely to smell it though.

Just because it's scent free to you doesn't mean the same thing to a deer.
My bet is he'll smell that for run. It may not impose a threat, but he'll realize it's there.
I would highly suggest you stick with gun products to clean guns.
