There are big ones in the south. You just don't see them much because they are alot smarter then the ones up north.
if you hunt the timber, you gonna see as many if not more deer than you would northern MO
and great bucks to those of you that have posted pictures!!!

Nice buck SOMO I dont know why people wouldnt think this buck could come from Southern MO??? A very good friend of mine is a taxidermist, and this year out of approx 150 bucks taken in from the area, he has more than 12 that will score over 160" So tell me theres no big bucks here.. They are harder to see because we are in the timber, and canthunt fields where we can see a long ways,, theres almost as many big bucks down here as there is in North MO, but they are harder to find. On my 250 acres, this fall alone, I have pics of 4 different bucks that will score over 150", and none were seen this season... They are here, for sure. South MO is going to be hears of a lot more in years to come.

I hunt in NW Texas County about 5 miles south of the Fort Leanord Wood military base. Alot of good timber to hunt them on, with two rivers that are excellent grounds. The Big Piney and the Roubidoux. Like I said, I have 5 P&Y bucks, my buddy killed a 150" ten point last year and we laid eyes on what I figure was a 150"-160" ten point but couldn't get on him. With no acorns down here this year because of the late freeze, they were hard to find!
