RE: Poll Question!
Sure, I have found numerous very nice sets. However I have many more big singles, so finding a B&C set that was in good shape and getting a real nice cape off another animal i harvested, why not. The way i figure it never can have too many mounts. I would never claim the sheds as a harvested animal, but finding the sheds and the cape would be a nice story to tell and have in any trophy room IMO. Not to mention if you connected on that deer the following year it would be a neat storyline to boot. I have done this in the past found several sheds from a particular deer then when i harvested it, I can show the growth and give more than the successful harvest story...to me that is pretty special. To this date i haven't mounted any sheds or dead deer, but know many guys who have and I think they are trophies none the less (finding a huge matching set can be just as difficult as harvesting that animal...truly a nice reward). The only thing that would be unacceptable would be claiming you pulled the pin on one of these type mounts. Lets be honest here guys, if you found a B&C set of sheds you wouldn't use them for rattling or art & crafts. Would you? Why not honour that animal in a mount or at least keep them in good shape to look at in those long off season days!
Keep in mind it is often called; SHED HUNTING! To me finding sheds offers a challenge, scouting, planning and a reward, so maybe not harvesting but still very much a part of what I call hunting and my passion for this great sport. Just my 2 cents worth.

RE: Poll Question!
Mount them. If they look nice find a good size cape and off to the taxidermist. I agree with some above comments Nice antlers deserve to be on the wall and besides the l;mmshed hunting thing is quite a challange in its own right. How about this one you find the deers best set of antlers and shoot the same deer after he has gone down hill from age and swap the antlers!!
Skeeter7 MM seems you might fit the bill some day, what do you think?

RE: Poll Question!
Striper Phil, if I found a real nice set I wanted mounted you bet your backside I would be looking for a cape to mount that deer with. I am not sure I would shoot the exact deer in decline, but maybe. It would be a nice story, but may prove hard to do. Is this what your asking???
To me this(mounting sheds) is now different than guys mounting varing sized deer, it is all personal and trophies are in that the owners eyes, not everyone elses.

RE: Poll Question!
I found the entire Skull of a 9 point this year. I mounted it just the way it was above the front door of my cabin. It has deffinatly been a conversation piece, my friends are always asking were I got it from. I always tell them the truth, I found it on the ground while I was out fishing. Some of my friends don't believe me, they insist that something would have destroyed the skull before anybody would find it. Well I just grin and tell them to think what they want, I told the truth that's all I can do
