Can't begin to guess at a weight without something to reference. The way the skin looks all wrinkled and loose around his neck and ears I wouldguess he is a fully matured deer 5.5-6.5 year old.

Hmm Id say 3-4....based on his face. Nice color and it matches the rest of his body. I think the wrinkles on his neck are just from the way he is laying.

I just love these "guessing game" threads, and I want to play too. Based on the rack, I would say that he is definitely over 2.5. As far as weight, he looks heavy enough that I wouldn't want to have to drag him too far.

Thank goodness he dropped in the open field, He was very heavy to pull around even a short distance.

Alot depends on where you hunt. At a friends place in south Texas, his 3 year olds look like our 5 year olds on the hoof. Those midwestern state's deer seem to look older than the deer around here as well.

Based soley on his head, I'd guess he was 4-6 years old, but hard to tell from the angle and zoom of the pic.

I'm going to stab at and say 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 as well and somewhere around 175 field dressed.

But I must say, that's one damn nice first deer ever!

Congrats!
