I have only seen pellets. Could it maybe have something to do with their diet?

Thanks... I was scouting a new hunting area and found several piles. The first 3 or 4 piles were loose pellets then 3 piles of clumps and then about 5 more piles of pellets all within about 50-75 yards. I know they're eating alot of browse in this area because it's a ridge about 20 yards wide running between a canal and a knee deep swamp. There were acorns on the ridge but not many. I think they've all been eaten up.
