Default I'm on a roll

I got my second doe for the season, which is the first time I have bagged more than one deer in a season. I have been able to get one per season for 6 years straight hunting mostly public land. I have seen deer almost every day I have been out. Dont know if I am getting better at this or just really lucky.

Now that my freezer is full I can work on this nice buck I spotted a few weeks ago. He lives in a narrow stretch of thickets between 2 pastures, so it is a challenge to get at him without being seen/heard/smelled. Maybe I will wait for a rainstorm and go in after him with buckshot.

Well, I was thinking buckshot because I might have to shoot through brush.

What tactic would you recommend?

I'm thinking, being northerners, they don't realize that buckshot is legal down south. It's kind of a shock to hear that up north.

LOL, I gotcha.

In Georgia they dont allow buckshot on public land, but the buck is on a private tract. I would never try shooting through brush with a rifle, but I think it would be ok with buckshot if I got close enough.

It was actually more of a shock to hear that it is used to shoot through brush. I just didn't know that was something that was done.

Actually, Maryland is below the Mason Dixon, so that makes me a southerner....of sorts. I just don't know why you would want to use buckshot for deer, too many deer would just get injured instead of dead. Throw a slug at that bad boy....it will go through light brush.
