Heres a pic of mine i took a couple years ago after some snow. Its built between a couple cedar trees, one of which marks the our property line, and dont worry, the other side of the line is public land and im on our side, so its totally legal and ethical. its about 44" by 50" at the floor, the only reason i know this is because i just put in some carpeting last weekend to dampen the noise of dropping things. It has 4 windows, the 2 long ones prop out and the 2 short ones on the tree sides fold in and hang from the ceiling. It's nicknamed "the cedar stand" because its between 2 cedars and the first year i hunted from it i shot 2 does from a group of5 that were feeding on a fallen cedar tree (you can actually see the remains of the tree to the right of the stand in the background, we have since cut it up and used the lumber to build benches for our sauna ). hope you like it! lets keep those pics coming, i like seeing what other guys do for permenant/semi-permenant stands, we're always lookin for ideas.

ps that'll be my 2nd home in 10 days and counting.

Here is an older one on my club property that was put up using a truck from the power company to put the cedar poles in. It's about 35 feet high.

Why do you guys love them shooting houses so much?

Don't get me wrong but isn't hunting about being in the wild and feeling that cold wind in your face?

Don't you guys like challenges...like the buck being able to smell or see you??

Guys shooting houses and high fences is not my cup of tea....but why spend the time and money into them when you could buy some Lock-On stands...or TRI-Pods??

When its raining and everyone else goes in, we climb into them. When it is really cold we go inside and turn on the coleman heater. I've hunted days when others won't even go outside.

Chase, i respect your opinion, but dont liken hunting out of an enclosed stand to hunting on a ranch, they are in no way the same thing. just like you like to be out in the elements, some of us dont have as high of a tolerance for cold/wind/snow/rain/wind/etc, so y knock other's hunting styles? I bowhunt from a lock-on stand and put up with the elements and the deer seeing/smelling me. I'm not trying to open a can of worms here, i might be reading into it more than you meant, i'm not trying to offend you, i just dont feel like i should have to defend my hunting style, and your post made me feel like i did. and as far as buying stands, ive bought a couple, and they're nowhere near as comfortable as the ones we've built, plus theres the little added pride in shootin a deer from a stand you built with your own hands. sorry to sound so offensive, or defensive i guess, but the post was askin for pics of deer houses, not a knock on deer houses.
