Anyone tried this: clothes in tupperwear with cedar chips, grass clippings, etc.?
This is a new approach. I did it a little bit last year, but this year I am thinking about taking it up a notch. I am going to put my top two layers of clothing in a big tupperwear with grass clippings, cedar chips, and anything else smelly and natural. This will include a sweater, a coat, sweat pants, hunting pants, socks, boots, gloves, and hat. Two or three weeks in this tupperwear, I think the clothes should pick up the scent. Because the inside of my truck smells like human, dog, and coffee, I am going to ride in my long underwear with some sweats on. Depending on how cold it is, I might or might not take the sweats off, but I am going to get out of the truck and change into the clothes right there on the side of the trail.
I am going to pay attention to wind as well, but I am worried about wind changing directions, etc. Also, because I am hunting on a farm where other people may be, I might not have a pick of location, thus if the wind is bad I might not be able to move to a different field.
What do yall think of this? Anyone do anything similar?

i did something similar with the tupperware.
now a days, i go outside, under the cedar trees, and literally grind my pants into the exposed dirt.

I do it similar I was my clothes in plain water and let them air dry outside in the trees. Then I put them in tupperware and sprinkle baking soda on them. I haven't had a problem with scent since I started this. An old hunter friend taught me and he kills a pile of deer every year I think his count last year was 10 he's selective on what he shoots and eats a lot of venision.

Just my two cents!

Of course. I always dust them off before I put them on. Baking soda is the main ingredient in most scent killer though. The man that told me about this actually makes his own spray with baking soda.

I use a rubbermaid bucket with a lid that I can seal tight. I put my clothes in there with a couple of cedar branches that I cut from one of the trees that is right next to the tree that my stand is in. This makes sure I smell just like what they are use to.
