Where on NOVA did this occur? I have land in North Stafford and I would like to know if this critter is in my neighborhood. My Ruger .45 is gettin kinda dusty!!

I don't know about the area you own land in, but in many parts of the country one could get himself into a bit of trouble also if they tried to ****** a tresspasser off their land by pointing a gun at him. If he goes away and tells the police you pointed a gun at him you will have some explaining to do also. He may have been wrong to tresspass, litter, etc., but I don't think it warrants pointing a gun at him if he is willingly leaving. In the long run it just might start more trouble than it solves.

Concealed carry permit gives you a right to point your gun at people? I don't think so. You may or may not get away with it if you point it at that tresspasser, but in order to continue to be allowed to keep that permit, I think one should not go around pointed guns at people for just any reason. If you shoot someone and it is determined that it was not justifiable, your permit would be lifted and your gun confiscated and you would have to face the same music as anyone else!

Bad- bad advice Bryant. If you ever pull a gun on someone, you better be doing it just before you shoot him. Guns are not made to scare people, and people get hurt playing games like that. Call the police and let them do what they do for a living. They have the training, and equipment.

Conceal carryrules of engagement often require far more than an episode like this to even justify drawing the gun. If it was me I would just order the guy off the land and tell him that if i caught him again he would be reported. Anything beyond that is playing cowboy and asking for trouble no matter how good it would feel to march them tothe sheriff at gunpoint.
