Andy/Englum: Thanks guys for the help. I'll see what else I can find out as far as an exact location and such. Since I live in TX, it'd kinda be hard to scout so I'd have to rely on you guys for the info if we can make this happen. This year I'm hunting with my rifle, but I'm planning on buying a bow after the holidays are over (and I actually have $$$ again) and will basically practice most of the year with it. Starting early for next year and this year hasn't even arrived (for me as Gun season starts in Nov here) yet! Thanks again!

Yeah I just got an old hand-me-down bow a couple months ago that Ive been practicing with. I guess Im getting the bow that I will actually hunt with as a christmas present from my dad. All I do is shotgun right now but next year Ill definitely be out there with a bow.

Im already getting anxious for it too!

sigav8r just a heads up incase you didnt already know their is no rifle season here in illinois! strictly bow, muzzleloader, handgun and shotgun season! and the shotgun has to be with slugs, not 00 buck! i woul;d just hate for you to make the trip all this way, spend alot more money for out of state tags and not have the proper equipment! another little bit of important info you might want to know is that our slug, muzzleloader, and handgun season is in mid nov. to mid. january! slug season is the friday, saturday, sunday before thanksgiving! then second slug season is the thursday, friday, saturday, sunday after thanksgiving! and the muzzleloader, and hangun season you will have to look up cause i have never hunted with them, though i do hope to try hangun season next year! It is also very very cold here for slug season, so many many layers of cold weather gear will be needed!

ps. sigav8r/englum- you guys make me jelous, i got an old hand me down bow and shot it 2 times at the target, third time the string broke, cut my wrist real bad and broke one cam! i was told i would be better off buying a new bow than repairing this old one, and since im just a freshman in college i am broke! the thaught of having to sell some of my guns is something that i nevevr thaught i would consider, but i hate to say it, but i think i will need to sell at least one by the end of the year! but happy to help you out anytime you need it, just give me a little advanced warning so i can make sure i can get there! weekends would most definitly by better, or on long breaks from school since thats basicly where i live on breaks!
