RE: RUT
Define "Peak of the rut". Are we talking the chasing part; the tending part; the breeding part; when the does come into heat? I have trouble understanding which phase of the rut people are referring to when they talk about the "Peak of the rut". All phases of the rut have peaks. If you are asking which week of the year I'd like to be in a stand all day would be the last week in Oct. and the first couple of days of Nov.

RE: RUT
It starts very early here. I hunt mostly in Beaufort County South Carolina, and I've seen bucks chasing consistently in the last week of September. So the rut is rocking right now, and I threw my back out last week, so I won't be back in the woods until next week. I've seen4 nice bucks already, one of which I was fortunate enough to take, so I'll be mighty choosy before I take another one this year, time to focus on the does.
