Question about young bucks.....
Was in the stand tonight I had a pair of bucks feeding by me for maybe a half hour. Anyway they were both spike bucks. They came in together and left together. First time I have ever seen straight spikes like these on my land. Have seen button bucks together. I am assuming these are brothers. Do bucks entering their first winter ever have spikes? Or are these deer 1 1/2 years old and have spikes and are still hanging together?

yes they can have spikes there first year...as far as brothers could be or even friends!! also deer will have spike horns sometimes when older...the old myth about spikes is wrong... the following year they can have a nice perfect rack...

The spikes were prolly 5 inches or so. Dont worry I am letting them grow. They would taste darn good though. The bodies just seemed small for 1 1/2.
