I would call it velvet lol... But if youre asking if the disease is present on the head, then I would have to say I doubt it. Ive been in touch with the Indiana DNR officials in Indianapolis, and they told me that the disease cannot live out of the host, and that it dies in a carcass thats more than a few days old. This buck looks like its been dead for maybe 3 weeks or more, so I dont think its still on the deer. Its not dangerous to humans anyways. But I wouldnt eat a diseased deer.
