I like to be on stand an hour before sunrise as a general rule. I love watching the woods go from black to light. And if I spook anything on the way in hopefully the woods will calm down a bit before sunrise.

I like to be in the stand at least45 min.before shooting light. I head out about an hour before sunrise.

I hunt on private land and still get there 1 1/2 hours before daylight...

I usually start out about one hour before sunrise. I mostly still hunt and legal hunting starts 1/2 hour before sunrise so once I get into the woods I usually wait for it to get light before going any further. I rarely sit in a fixed stand while gun hunting.
