i dont know, but i remember last year during season i heard so many people saying one day they werent going hunting because it was too hot and deer wont move around. If i remember right i saw almost more deer that day than i did any other day of the season.

Since you brought it up, I think most of our ideas about heat and game are flawed. I live in elk country in MT and constantly hear how "they don't move in the heat". But our heat up here can't match that on the great plains where elk abounded in the past.
I think any drop in activity actually pertains to vegetation rather than temperature. As vegetation falls in succulence, deer may not utilize it quite as much. That accounts for most of the variance in movement in my opinion.

I have always thought that it was silly to believe deer wont move around, hot or cold. They still have to eat and drink!! Sure some days are better then others but that may be luck of the draw.A loud muffler a stray coyote, someone stopping to look at them can all change the direction they usally follow.I have killed most of my best bucks around 1:00 (stay in the woods). They are just doing what comes naturally ---eating.

Here in Ky its been real hot and real dry and the deer are out in the field almost everyday. I read in a hunting magazine that deer dont really mind the heat that much, but they dont like humidity. Like today it was very humid because rain was moving in and I havent seen any deer and they are usually out. I guess we will leave it to the deer to figure out when its too hot for them to be moving.

I have been seeing deer all day long in temperatures ranging from 86-105 and crazy humidity, I have been seeing atleast a dozen dear a day at given points at miday, so when I got home from working today I went spotting and saw 5 deer 4 does one large buck, and 2 turkey all in a radius of 20 acres.
