It's the empty cheerwine bottle or the wafflehouse coffee cup for the spittoon, not the PBR can. A sack of recycled cans gets another 6 pack!

The only thing that should be legal to hunt with dogs is feral cats and then only on Sunday with a cross bow behind a high fence.
And the only vehicle allowed is a two wheel drive ford truck made between the years of 1972 & 1984 .[]

And Onlyany food that can be safely eaten aftersitting in a jar ona bar at room temperature for months on end can be consumed while partaking in this time heralded sport. The only thing that needs served chilled is the 30 pac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deer hunting with dogs makes as much sense to me as this.

Won't get much interest in this thread until the season starts and someone runs a dog across your land and spooks the 165 BC buck that you have been trying to kill for a couple of years.

Well grizz, that sounds like the anti-dog hunters version of a dear penthouse letter. Its the kind of thing that happened to a friend of a friend's half-brother's cousin. But, if you haven't been able to kill a deer on your own land after going after it for years, i guess that a dog running across your property is as good an excuse as any. I once missed the buck of a lifetime because someones beagle yelped while chasing a feral cat in the next creek bottom over and it spooked a 30 point buck away from my stand for the entire season.

Just think how these Q.D.M. people would feel if one of these bone crunching beagles chased off their quota of Doe.

I've heard said that once a deer is chased by a dog the meat becomes tainted and even weeks later you can tell.

On the other hand, a deer shot by someone in a deer stand tastes like prime rib eye and will literally melt in your mouth, even when its off an over-the-hill doe.

And when you have a semi-tame herd of feeder fattened deer who wants stuff chasing them and making them wild anyway

Its 5% of the people who do it causing 100% of the problems. And its the same people who cause issues around everything else they do. The hunters who are driving blocks of private property, saying they are looking for dogs, folks who run their dogs during spring turkey season (a favorite of mine), and people who stand on the hard surface road for the non-hunting public to see. There again, 5% causing 100%. But, these are the same guys who start fights with umpires at little leauge games, knock over women and children to catch a foul ball at the Braves game, driver a 2500 HD with lots of stickers and never put it in 4x4, and probably don't remove their hat or place their hand over their heart during the national anthem. Its only a hunting problem, because these jerks hunt. The fact that they hunt with hounds is just a method of attacking the means.

Its not just the dog hunters in that 5%. I've seen people throw temper tantrums and get downright violent because someone dared to walk within 400 yards of their stand, or who gets their panties in a wad if someone puts up a stand anywhere near a property line, or if someone dares to ask to trail a wounded deer on their land. The fights over "ownership" of stand sites by people who don't even own the land can be both funny and disturbing.
Something about deer hunting that can bring out the worst in folks and make them engage in the hunters version of running over a little kid to grab a foul ball.
