where would you hunt

RE: where would you hunt
How about an area where all 3 of the mentioned habitat types meet. A foodplot, just off a powerline with big woods on the other side. As a matter of fact, I have a hunt spot that's nearly EXACTLY like that on a buddies farm! Last year it produced a 177" and a 150"!

I would say a tree stand 30 feetabove the ground, with the standard 180 degreefield of view, with 75 degrees of it pointing to the woods, and the rest to the food plot, maybe having the tree stand sorta in the woods, over a game trail, but it's on the area of the woods where the trees are wider spaced, and there's an opening from branches, and it gives a view of the food plot, yet gives a decent shooting lane for bow season, and the food plot for muzzleloader and rifle season.
I'm talking about something like what Tiffany LaKowsky shot her bow buck from in Monster Bucks XIV, but better, more of a shooting lane underneath, so you can catch those deer that are heading for the food plot at the last hour of daylight, if nothing shows up in the field. This kind of spot is possible in TN, since the foliage under the trees is not very thick in comparison tosome spots in Florida.
Most underbrush dies in November and December.
That's what I think is ideal, I personally think telephone lines are okay, but I don't really like hunting in a non-wild environment, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't hunt a telephone line, I just wouldn't prefer it.

I don't do food plots, but with the other 2 options I'd say the big bucks would be in the thick woods. Although I do see alot of deer on the powerlines when I'm rippin around on my quad.
