Chuckers got it right. Ethics basically comes down to what your soul tells you is right to do and what is wrong. Some people hunt coyotes right now. At this very point in time the female coyotes are feeding and caring for the pups, if the mother dies, so do the pups. BUT its LEGAL to hunt them in some states, so if people want to shoot and kill coyotes right now they can. To some people that may sound wrong, and to others it may be fine. It all depends on where you stand on the issue and what your hunting ethics are.If you want, then kill them. If it feels wrong, then dont kill them. The main point is neither person is really WRONG, its just a difference of opinion.

To me its all about what you can or can't live with.I have been berated on here for some of the methods I use to hunt. They are all legal but some dont like it so they feel they must attack my methods.Maybe I dont like what they do but it really aint none of my business. If more people on here took the its ok as long as its legal approach some of these topics might be more pleasent .

The other thing you see a lot of is people saying that one form of hunting is "cheating". I've always thought that cheating was doing something that was against the rules. Hunting over bait is legal in Texas and not against the rules. Not sure how you would say that is "cheating".

Just because something is legal doesn't make it right in everyones eyes. I will not ever, judge someone again, that is not breaking the law. I'm also going to try and keep more of an open mind to other peoples way of thinking.

Colorado noone stated that its rigth in everyones eyes. If its right in the yees of the person doing it that is all that matters. Everyone who doesnt like it can go pound salt. If its legal and the person doing it is okay with it, thats all that matters.

You're not hearing me... I agree with you! Thats why I said I would never judge anyone as long as theyarelegal. You are saying the same thing in a different way. Not only will I not judge them, I'm open to hearing why they choose to hunt like they do.I recently just changed my stance on baiting, after hearing experienced bait hunters prospective.

Once again I will add, ethics are personal, not everyone will agree with each other. Thats why I think these discussions can only help us individually and as a group. I know they have helped me.

ETHICS :::::::::Ethics are ways that you weretaught growing up, which are considered moral or right for your lifedown to the core, practices that you are comfortable living with now. Persononal preferences are choices that you make based on your up bringing in life.

In other words if you are comfortable with your choices it does not make any difference what anyone else thinks.

Thisis just my thoughts on this topic, has nothing in it about whatis better, equal, worse, orbetter thananyone elses decisions.

Luckydog I gotta admit that after your first post I didn't know if you understood what I was trying to get at, but now I think you do. Ethics as it pertains to hunting at least, seems to first be guidelined by legality in your area and then by the personal viewpoint about it. Ones personal ethical stance and way of huntingshouldn't be forced on anybody else, but can and should be explained to anybody that is interested. This is all IMHO.

Default Off to work

Well, this is an interesting topic. I'm off to work so I don't have much time. I work at a correctional facility. While it's legal for the inmates to curse me most of the day and most of them think it's ok and were raised that way, I have a hard time thinking it's ethical, but who knows, I'm probably thinking of it wrong. Have a great day.
