New deer slug for 2007!!!!

RE: New deer slug for 2007!!!!
Uncle Matt, you can't tell people how to spend their money! As you probably know, different ammo flies differently out each gun! If your successful with the cheap stuff, you would be silly to change. But I am always trying to improve my accuracy when shooting slugs..... I currently shoot an H&R Ultra Slugster which shoots Rem. Ultra-Core lokts great, by great I mean consistently hit a 3" orangesticker at 125 yards and a 1 1/2" high above the black diamond inside the 3" orange at 50 yards, with bullet holes 3 of 5 touching. If I didn't experiment, I would have never found this ammo. My buddy's H&R prefers Win. Partition Golds.
By experimenting I try to take my equipment out of the equation when I'm in the field hunting. If I should miss for any reason, I want to know it is error on my part, not the ammo I am shooting. With my gun, I only have 1 shot, and I have to make it count........ The reason I am looking foward to this new ammo, is that I'm a huge fan of Barnes Bullets! I have done extensive testing with a whole gammet of bullets with my muzzleloader and have found that Barnes Bullets as a whole are probably the most impressive! That's not to say that they will impress me with my slug gun, but I am willing to find out. I'm not a person who has money to burn, but when I hunt, I want the best!!!!!!!!
P.S. I would like to see a smooth bore, fully rifled slug shoot a 3" group at 125 yards... I have 1 that shoots phenominally up to 70 and some where after that it takes a tummble!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not saying it can't be done, but I'm certain at 50 yards it would have to be 8" high at the bare minimum.

Whitetailcrazy, I hope your eyes work better when you're hunting............
Doesn't sound like I'm telling people to not spend their money - it just I'm not wasting any of my money.
As a newber I can cut ya some slack. Your not telling me a thing about H&R USGs - we've got a few here and I've been shooting mine for about 10 years.
Of course I do know that the same model guns can shoot ammo differently, but thanks for pointing that out. I'll make sure to remember that.
We have shotour share of slugs and have settled on what shoots what I consider excellently out of them. I don't think that there is any sense to try anything else anymore.I don't think there is going to be some magic slug introduced that is going increase my accuracy results more than a percent or two. Percent or two is just figuredin the shooter so it's in the wash.
By the way you must have some sort of new H&R (probobly new & improved, high-tech,high-speed or something). Ours are called Ultra Slug Hunters (USH), or atleast I think they are.
If you have the time, would you please clarify that for me?
Thanks in advance
ORIGINAL: uncle matt My bet is more like $15+/box. ..........
But remember guys - "if it ain't broke it don't need fixin'"! .......... Another "better mousetrap" IMO. .......... Go ahead and open your wallet wide and knock your socks off if you want.

RE: New deer slug for 2007!!!!
I'm so, so, so sorry! Silly me, I typed Ultra-Slugster, when what I should have typed was Ultra Slug Hunter Deluxe model SB2-988, not SB1-928, or SB2-980, or even SB1-920. What was I thinking? I apparently, couldn't see what i was typing!!!!!!!! What if I had typed Ultra-Slugger, you may have thought I was talking about an ultra-fast, self swinging baseball bat! I hope I clarified it enough!!!
Oh yeah, I opened my wallet wide and spent an extra $30 for the Deluxes laminated stock. But not because I had liked the way it had looked, but because I though it might help me shoot my gun 1-2% better!!!!
Jus-foolllllin around.......

RE: New deer slug for 2007!!!!
Unless they killa deer deader than a plain old cheap assed foster slug I'll save my money for other things. Whizz bang numbers don't kill a deer any deader, and a $5 dollar slug doesn't either. Gawd some people are suckers...

You thought (and actually believed!) that a laminated stock would help you shoot better?
Ha! Better off having Momma hold yer little hand.
The deluxe does indeed have the "camo laminated" stock and forend but if anything about the deluxe would help anyone shoot better(or more comfortably) it would be thecheckering and longer forend. Whether it be SB 1, SB 2, ABC or EFG.
That's it.I'm done here. Just don't hurt anyone Slugster.

HERE'S MY OPION IF YOU ARE SHOOTING A SMOOTH BORE SHOTGUN THERE IS NO NEED TO ANYTHING BUT FOSTER TYPE SLUGS. NEWER SHOTGUNS WITH RIFLED BARRELS ARE DESINGED TO SHOOT SABOTS WITH GREATER ACCURACY THAN ANY SB. MY ITHICA 37 DSL 20 SHOOTS LIGTHFIELDS EXCELLENT, BUT I AM GOING TO TRY THE HORNADY SST AT THE RANGE THIS YEAR.
