I think it is great that so many more women are now enjoying the outdoors. For the ladies out there, who or what was the biggest influence that made you get into this awesome pastime? Was it your parents? Did you take it up on your own? Lets hear your answer.

I self tought myself and I am the only one that hunts in my family. I didn't have any influences or support from any of them either. It's really annoying to go into a hunting store and try to get help from a male employee. THey tend to just ignore me and keep walking by to help the male customers. There is also the way they talk down to me when I ask them a question.

I was absolutely blessed with one of the most amazing fathers and no brothers!

I would see him go hunting when I was 6 and cried to go, he taught me to shoot at that age, and I killed my first animal at 10. He created a monster!

Last year I really wanted to try bowhunting, so I took it upon myself to learn. Its awesome because I teach my dad about bowhunting now!

Had been around hunting a lot of my life. My Dad is a big hunter and fisherman. I liked fishing, but never had hunted. Then I got my current job with a hunting products company. I decided I needed to learn more about this world, and now I'm hooked.

I'm going to learn to shoot later this spring. Don't know when I'll try hunting yet, but I'm getting really interested in bird hunting, so might try that.
