OUT IN the COLD
How many have watched the documentary on whitetail deer on television?
I just did and enjoyed it. Its on the life of them and the hardships. Its on the knowledge channel. Keep an eye for it you should enjoy

It is amazing how they can survive, especially you see some of the smaller last years fawns still with the does.
They say their hide and thick, hollow fur is what can protect them so well. But when it gets really cold, like it's starting to get up in northern MN and into Canada now, it seems the deer head for the thick cover much of the time that they aren't feeding for protection.

The very first elk I killed was a rag6x. I skull mounted him and tanned the hide with hair on. I slept under the hide a few times, but couldn't stand the heat. That's nothing compared to sleeping under a buffalo hide. All I can say is, "It better be freakin cold out to warrant a night under a buffalo hide."
