I got a 710 in .243 caliber and at first I thought it was a good gun. After examining it I realized that it really isn't all that good. I hate the bolt on it, the trigger guard is part of the stock, and the stock is cheap. Although shooting it isn't all that bad until you have to mess with the bolt. Just my opinion.

The Remington 710 just isn't a very good gun, much better guns can be bought for around the same money, like the Savage packages, or a HOWA 1500.

I have one in 30-06, last yearI killed 7 deer two big hogs and a bobcat with it, all were one shot kills, this year I killed a 165 class 14 point with it. I shoot 165gr BTSP out of it and it groups 1" at 100yds.As far as the scope that comes on it, I junked it and put on a Millet 8-24X50 for long range shots, I can shot anything that a VLS orA-bolt in the same caliber can, last year on my trip to Kentucky the guys talked alot of smack about it on the way there, a day and half later I had already tagged out 3 deer in 3 shots with one shot over 300yds, they shut up after that...

The Bushnell that came with the gun, holds more value than the gun itself.
