Spoiled meat???
What do you guys think about leaving a deer out overnite and then taking it to the processor in the morning? There is no one locally here that I can take a deer to in the evenings and I was thinking maybe if I took one I could wait till the am to take it in. I know the best option is to do it your self and I have helped my brother-in -law cut deer, I just do not have the tools or confidence to do it myself (yet).
Thanks
John

RE: Spoiled meat???
What's the weather like there?
I've always been able to leave mine hang for a day if the temp. doesn't get over 40. I would suggest that if it's warmer than that and you have to wait to take it somewhere then to stock up on bags of ice. Pack as many bags as you can inside the body cavity and try and keep it out of direct sunlight.

As early as the middle of Sep, when the season opens here, I've just hung 'em in the garage and put one or two milk jugs that were full of water and frozen into the body cavity....but they get cut up or taken to the butcher the next morning.
