If you're in an area where people pee often it may not matter, but if there is a spooked buck out there, I'm pretty sure he's not going to come near it. Most hunters don't do much scouting, don't go very far in the woods and don't prepare properly, so they pee on the ground. Later you'll hear most of them complain "there arean't any big bucks out here". Do your best to not let anyone know you're out there. I pee in a bottle. The only reason not to is laziness.
Entirely wrong IMO.Ipiss in the woods when I have to go and I never complain about there not being big bucks around. In fact I'mvery satisfied with the bucksthat I see. I don't see the coorelation between pissing on the ground and laziness either. Don't you have to do the same amount of work to take a leak on the ground as you do in a bottle?? Unless that empty coke bottle is wearing you down carrying it out to the stand?? I dont' get that one.

I've pissed on scrapes and hunted over them the next day to have bucks come by and not give a second thought to it. Killed a 130" 9 pointer a couple years ago while taking a leak when he was directly downwind of me. Got a little on my pants, but it was worth it.

If ya have to go............ go for it. Not going to hurt a thing. Wait for a squirell or something to come by first though. They are a lot of fun trying to hit from 20 feet in the air.

I go with the warm bottle of pee method. I carry a clamato juice jug in my pack at all times for those special moments. I discourage the use of a pop bottle unless your hung like a field mouse. Empty it out as soon as possible to avoid spillage or leakage.

Try to aim where the leaves are the thinnest. Making wee wee from 20 feet up a tree onto dry leaves makes a lot of noise.
Go for the Gold noise that is.

When a deer/buck hears the pee hitting the ground he is going to think.
Boy that sounds like a hot babe I better investagate.
It just might be my new girlfriend.

Or he will think who is the other buck trying to steal my girls.

either way it gets his attention.
And he will come to see what other deer made the sound.
I have had it happen before.

Good Luck

LMAO...hung like a field mouse..hehe!

FYI, for our state side friends clamato juice is our upped version of tomato juice, it comes in plastic jugs. Often found with vodka/celery/worchester/salt(a ceaser)orused asmix with Beer. Of course their are those odd fellas who actually drink it straight...Hia ain't such an animal!

i dont go pee because when the pee is fresh they can tell if its a scent they usually smell. But after a while it wont matter because after it sits all they can smell is the amonia and all pee has amonia.

Just consider yourself lucky that you even *have* the option of peeing off the side of the stand...

I am afraid of what this year is going to be for me on the subject. I am in my 7th month of pregnancy and sometimes it's an every 1/2 hour occurance for me. My plan of action... shoot a deer within a half hour of shooting light and be done with it! LOL

Hubby pees off the side, does the other duty within 15 yds of his stand, smokes, chews, etc... he has had some dandy's and there are a couple of them on the wall.... so I think there are just certain scents that don't "spook" 'em. But that's JMHO

Here's another vote to just let it go when you have to go! I have yet to see a deer get alarmed from my pee.
