As for the harvest, I am sure she would handle that fine... she helps cut up and skin the deer we take, it's one of her favorite parts of deer season! She sat with me a few times last year, she has her own camo and her own boots and binoculars and whatnot... she loves her "As a matter of fact, I *DO* hunt like a girl" shirt, but I think the gun was just too much for her. She loves the 22, she'd shoot it all day.
I know I've got plenty of time, I was going off of what she had said to me... she said she wanted to hunt and wanted her own gun... so we tried it. No biggie, it was just disappointing, but she will get there.

Those .410 slugs have a surprising punch , my grandson had the same reaction . He got over it when I got him some shot shells for it so that he could get used to heavier recoil than his .22 has . Now he shoots both with no problems .
