RE: rifles in indiana
It's being discussed , but it won't happen this year , although there's an excellent chance of them being legalized next year . The calibers being discussed are lower velocity rounds like 30-30 , and all straight wall , no high powered stuff .

well that will still be better than my 20 gauge.

I'm not saying you're wrong. But I've read quite a bit about what they're trying to pass and not one gun or cartridge that they're thinking about legalizing will out shoot what is currently legal to hunt with in Indiana.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my 30/30!! And it would MAKEMY DAYif I could hunt deer here at home with it. What I'm getting at is if youhave a rifled barrel on your 20 guage and shootsomegood sabots like Winchester's partition or platinum tip, you'll out shoot a 30/30. And my 30/30 won't hold a candle to my Encore 209X50.
Believe me, I am veryhappy they're even considering the new law. Iwould love to grab one of my lever guns andhead out and shoot a nice deer.I do also see an advantage forsomekidsand some ladies that don't wantto deal with recoil. They'll be able to grab a nice 44 mag rifleand head out with an effective weapon and shoot em a deer.
So I'll support it 100%!!
But not for the reason that it will increase our range or anything like that!
JMO!! Please don't think I'm trying to start an argument!!

its no myth it is being discussed. I just think that most of indiana's publicly hunted land is to crowded for anykind of rifle cartridge. That is my opinion though and you know what everyone says about those.

Will you tell me what your thoughts are on your above statement?
