Last night while hunting I heard a noice that made me about wet myself. At dark I heard the loudest noise I have ever heard in the woods. It sounded like a huge hog snorting. Much louder than any deer I have ever heard. Came from behind me where I never see deer. Occurred twice but I never seen anything. I snorted relunctantly back at what ever was, maybe a good thing I never found out.
Any thoghts about what I heard. I am pretty sure that it was no deer, much too loud but diffinitly an animal. I was hunting in central Iowa, no hogs around that I know of.

Was there a propane tank near by. I have heard those things let off pressure that sounds like a giant creature snorting.
I like the idea of it being big foot.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
Lifes a garden, dig it.

I was afraid it was bigfoot. probably good thing I didn't see it. I tell you I was up late last night tring to figure this out. If it was a large buck he sure did a good job sneaking past me. I also figured that if it was a large buck he would have responded to my dominate buck call which he didn't.
We'll keep pondering this. Maybe whatever it was will come back! or not!

I took time to snort back just in case it was a 190 P&Y. Days later this is still troubling me. I read a post once about deer hunters and being scared to enter the woods. I thought that was rediculous until now. That will always be in the back of my mind.
There are some houses around using propane tanks. And the noice came from an area where I never see deer. HMMM... Maybe it was just a normal sound coming from a propane tank.
I will diffinitely let people know. Haven't seen any bucks in the area capable of producing a sound like that, however in Central Iowa those corn feed deer can get big.
