I have hunted deer with a bow sinceI was 14.I would shoot a deer now and than but not consistantly.I became very confident and successful about 10 years ago. 30 years of hunting whitetails has taught me proper stand placement and how to hunt them. I am still learning though..you are never done learning.

I would have to say that it was my...5th year of deer hunting. I started seeing tons of deer, and shot my first buck as well, a nice 8-point. I went hunting with my dad the first 4 years or so, but he has never been a real serious hunter. So, when I finally started going out by myself, that is when things started to get a heck of a lot better. I know there is still a lot I have to learn, but right now I know I can get another buck next season.

I came to deer hunting late in life. I felt I knew what I was doing once I was able to "hold my own" when talking with experienced hunters.

I hope I never know what I am doing. That would imply I know it all and, if you think about it, that would really suck....but I know what you mean, consider yourself 'knowing' if your WAGs are right more often than wrong
