I really have no use for a ladder stand. I think Ive only hunted out of one once and it sucked!!!!!!! Im a huge Lone Wolf fan since being converted last summer.

15' Stealth LS with deluxe kit

If you're a buyer's club member they'll deliver this to your door for $113 , you can add some levelers for another $27 . If you can build a cheaper , safer wooden stand than that then go for it . Personally , I wouldn't risk my life over such chump change .

If you you've only hunted once - how - can somebody make a judgement on - ALL - Wood Stands??

Is the $113 stand fit for a 12 yr old or grown Man(18 x 13" - WOW - Is This a Mis-Print).

I think we owe the original poster more than just a negative view of wooden stands.

You can build a hek of a lot better stand than 18x13" for $113.00 outa wood!!

Gentelmen Iam reallylooking at wooden home made stands. I've searched out the market for metal stands. Specificaly (sp) I want to build a 15ft ladder stand with a seat and rail. I would like to build it out of wood however I do not know what angels to make the braces for maximum strength and how to fit everything together, what is the best platform size, how high should I make the shooting rail, etc.... All the blueprints I have found are incomplete or just supply lists. Still thanks for the spirited responces.

Who said I've only hunted once ? I've hunted far more than that just from ladder stands , and the one I referenced is fairly typical of the breed . You can't buy a beachfront condo for $113 , and there were much larger ones on the same site if room is what you want . Wooden ladder stands aren't the devil's design , but they will never hold up as well as a steel ladder stand regardless of design or weather proofing . Risk your life on wood if you want , not me .
