Good one Bill. I'll be interested to hear how it does. If nothing works the scrape don't totally give up because nothing works 100% of the time.

Well, I've got a little success story on this subject. I found a small dried up scrape this week and I re-worked it and put some doe estrus in it. I put my game camera over it and left it. I got a pic of a nice buck that night. The next day I re-worked it and added more doe estrus. As I was walking out of the woods, I noticed another small unactive scrape about 15 yrds from the one with my camera on it. I was out of doe estrus and having this thread on my mind........I just let it rip and urinated all in the dry scrape. I came back 2 days later and didn't have a picture on my camera and my scrape with doe estrus hadn't been touched. However, the scrape that only had human urine in it was cleaned out with deer tracks in it and it had only been 15 yrds from the other scrape. I can't believe it. I was going to move my camera over it but I found a better more recent scrape on down a log road. Just more proof that human urine works sometimes.

I've never had a deer come immediately running in, but i've killed several within an hour or so after "shakin the dew off my lilly" right out of my stand. And yes, several of those have definitely been downwind. I'm sure it is possible that i've spooked as many unseen deer though, who knows. I won't intentionally drink a lot in order to go, but if I feel the need, then I don't hesitate. Never done it in a scrape though, interesting.

Ok, I'm not a pervert(much!!)but this thread got me thinking... and my mind wandered around a bit with this info... eventually it woke up to find itself firmly entrenched in the gutter!!

OK...

If the hormones contained in human urine attracts deer, would it be better to have a teenager "freshen-up" the mock scrapes compared to a decrepit old man??

also, would female urine work better/worse than male urine?

what about using male and female urine together at the same scrape? or would the buck think that the humans are just rutting??

If hormones in urine arouse a deer, would reproductory fluids, harvested from animals, used in conjuction to urine, increase the bucks level of arousal? DON'T let your mind wander with this one!

what about certain...er...uh... SCENTS that are... uh... emitted while engaged in... um...er... EXTRACURRICULAR activities!!!??!? would deer be attracted to these scents? or would they be scandalized??

also how would you explain to the game warden?

these are a few of the things that I "cleaned up" quite a bit after I climbed out of the gutter!!

Well my expirement was a bust. Went out Saturday Morning early to find 2" of slushy snow on the car and ground with a steady sleet falling. Spent 4 1/2 hours in the woods that are still full of leaves on the lower trees (Canopy clear) Saw one lone doe and no sign that I could say was deer for sure, too much slop falling off the trees. In short it was to miserable to expose and hose if you know what I mean. I did manage to put the new GoreTex bibs to the test. Passed with flying colors (unlike the Cabelas Dry Plus)
