Thanks all... When I get a chance, I'll post one from another angle. It looks to me like the taxidermist has his antlers mounted off center a bit. They look to me like they are tilted so that they a bit too low on the deer's right (left side as you look at the pic). It's pretty obvious if you look at the deer straight on, which is right where the easy chair is in my den...

Have any of you ever taken a mount back to your taxidermist for an adjustment?

Nice deer. What part of the hill country did it come from. I just added a new lease that is at the junction of Kerr, Kimble, and Gillespie counties.

John: The lease is in Mason County, about a half hour or so north of Fredericksburg. Not sure, but it may technically be "Edwards Plateau" rather than "Hill Country". I've been hunting there for two years, and this one is the biggest I've seen on this lease.

Ipscshooter, it's not the easiest thing to do, but it can be done. However, before taking it back, make sure it's actually wrong. From the angle of the pic, it's impossible to say. But, it appears that the left side has significantly longer tines than the right. Some times this can cause an illusion, making it appear as if one side is lower than the other. Some times you can tell by looking at the beams, but often they also are different from side to side. Hopefully, your taxidermist took measurements before caping to ensure the antlers were set correctly.
