Default Stands

In the past I have hunted only public lands so I use a tree climbing stand. Well this year I have found my way onto a lease in east texas, which I am really pumped about. However, I need to buy, make, or barrow two stands. I think that I will make at least one box stand (for those really cold rainy lazy days) and maybe a tree or tripod stand. I was wondering if anyone has an idea of the cost of a stand vs. building one, and if you have any advise. Alsoare thereany good places on the internet to research this topic.

As high as lumber is you can buy a ladder stand as cheap as you can make one .

Well, not to dog you but have you not seen the trees in east texas. Surely there is a big piney woods tree you can use for your tree stand. I think you need to scout out the area and see if you can't find a good location........

we build our box stands. Not that hard actually. You might just wanna stick with your climber though and buy the cover you can strap to the tree for a roof. Oh, welcome to east texas and good luck!
