My first was an 8 point taken in 1983with a Westpoint 30/30 topped with a Burris 4x scope. I watched the deer come in from about 100 yards and shot him at 25 yards when he cleared some brush. He ran about 10 yards and piled up. I have been hooked ever since. God bless myGrandfather that got me started hunting, and my step Dad and myuncle for taking me deer hunting for the first time. In the past 22 years, I have killed nearly 100 deer and have 6 shoulder mounts, butthe rack of my first 8 point still holds a place of prominance over my deskin myoffice.

I remember it like it was yesterday. I missed the first shot and the stupid Mule just stood there so i shot at him again and got a spine shot. Dropped him where he stood. My uncle said that he has never seen me so exicted or run so fast. It was a nice 4pt mule.
