i think the guy knew he was wrong, just look at the way he was acting at the truck. he knew he goofed up, and i bet he knew what he was shooting before he pulled the trigger.

That was hilarious, prank or not.
BUT someone mentioned those guys were down there, "huntin with their ol buddy Jimmy and just helping him take some culls". On ranches like the Perlitz those culls can very easily be 3.5-5.5yr plus bucks that would be trophies in many other areas. They could be large 6s, 8s and even 10pts in some cases that still score in the 130-145 range. Those bucks aren't "given too his buddies" for fartsNgiggles. Even culls on ranches like that and of that size will still cost $3500-$5000 to hunt. They are technically called "management bucks". Some are even larger and just very old, like over 6.5yrs and on the way down.
Did you notice those boys clothing and equipment? They aren't "good ol boys" from some trailer park in Alabama totin ADLs with Tascos and wearing Carharts. Those places still command big buck$ for big bucks. Even the management/culls are paid out the yingyang for. And REAL mistakes like that ARE made from time too time and yes the fellow pulling the trigger DOES have to, "get out the checkbook".
Just about ANYWHERE a 180" buck grows with any regularity and is on a commerical opperation they will bring well over $10k for the chance to take them. You should see what they charge for bucks over 190" and 200". A 200" buck will command a $25k charge in many locations.
Folks get plumb CRAZY when big antlers like those are on the menu,
