RE: Well is everyone ready for TURKEY season?
Now I’m all wound up on Turkeys but I don’t have a clue how to hunt them. What are the best calls to use to bring them in during the spring? Is it best to look for them during the morning, noon, or evening?
There is a public hunting ground about two hours from home that is supposed to have a decent amount of birds there. I’d like to go there and scout out the various areas but what do you look for… droppings, tracks, feathers or what?
I know a lot of questions so bare with me. Deer season is a long way away and I’ll drive myself nuts if I don’t track something down soon. All these new toys and I want to use them!!

RE: Well is everyone ready for TURKEY season?
I have beenwatching about 40-45 birds on the property I turkey hunt. I often ask myself why I don't deer hunt there. Last time I was there I saw 10 deer on the last lsat day of late archery. I cannot wait until turkey season. Last year I saw a white hen, a piebald tom, and a white tom with the longest black beard I have ever seen on a bird. I hpe I can get a shot at him this year. And before the debate starts there are NOT any domestic turkeys around my turkey property. Good luck to all.
