Had the same thing happen to my friend about 3 years ago on our lease. He shot a nice deer and we waited about 1 hr to trail him. The blood trail circled around and to the adjoining ranch in which we also hunt. This ranch has a main gravel road as eastment to the back ranches. While my buddy went over the fence to continue the tracking, I took the pickup around through the main gate. Upon arrival to the main gait, a pickupalready leaving, had deer on the bed of his pickup. It was not tagged nor field dressed. He sprinted off but not before I took a great look at the nicebuck butnot the license plate number. I met up with my buddy on the other side. I told him what I saw and gave details of the buck they carried. He confirmed that was it but we wereunable to catch up to those bastards. Wewere unable to identify them. No shots were heard from the back ranches that morning either. The guy who stole the buck was a loud mouth and word got back to us that he had pickedit up from the side of the gravel road.
