Default new to hunting/alabama deer hunting

im new to hunting, this rifle season (two days til openin day) will be my first season ever to hunt. im extremely excited about it, and i just wanted to know about the buck to doe ratio in alabama. of course, id be extremely happy to take a doe as my first deer, but id like to know my chances of seeing a nice mature buck in the tuscaloosa area of alabama.

Johnny welcome to the Fraternity .... I hunt north Alabama and the buck to doe ratio is way out of wack ... but as you get further south I think it gets more in line ... not sure where your at in Alabama but don't worry about the bucks ... just enjoy your time in the woods ..experience EVERYTHING this sport has to offer ... the buck will show up sooner or later ..

Good Luck
dd

I am beginning to think that not only are there too many does in the state in most locations, but that there are too many bucks also. Just too many deer of all kinds.
