I'm glad the poachers got nailed this time. It's bad around here too. During early MZL season, we had idiots shooting several hours after dark and several hours before 1st light. I found a gut shot deer in the hunting spot the day before the bowseason started and it had just died. My buddie is a gamewarden and he arrested 9 poachers at my spot in a 2 day period.

Poachers are scum. They are the lowest creature on earth next to insects.

we have had our neighbors ticketed more than once for shooting turkey out of season in their yard, hunting on a 4wheeler, and hunting after being tagged out. These are the type of guys that will shoot anything that moves, take it home and butcher it, throw the remains in the woods, and start over the next day, never tagging anything. I know a guy around me that owns alot of land finally kicked them off the property this year, which means he is hunting everyone elses land even harder now. This same landowner let them hunt for years but not our family because he called us "criminals".

These guys were road hunting with spotlights and deserve what they get.
I'm surewe may have poachers up here but if there is, I don't know of any.
The county I live in is the last county in montana as far as economic developement and your not going to get rich here, however I do know of Families that will supplement there income by providing for there family.
If I'm snowed in during the winter and couldn't get out and hungry, I would do what it takes to survive as any of you would.
I believe there is a lot of difference in some homeboys driving new pick-ups and wearing the latest new camo along with new rifles and scopes and has a 40 hour week job, as opposed to a couple whos wifehas towork 3 jobs because her husband is laid up. It seems like any hunter, accidently or not,who breaks the law while in the woods is automatically labeled as a poacher. I don't agree.
In my book these guys were poachers though.

Bobby

Poachers are worthless and deserve the severest punishments that can be dealt to them. They are not hunters only shooters. And they aren't even subsitence shooters, as often they do not take all the meat but maybe only the antlers. I think maybe the message of what punishments are given out should be more highly publicized, and maybe then poachers would think twice about poaching.
