    Default can deer smell gun oil?
    Was cleaning my gun and I was pondering if deer can smell gun oil or solvents, and if so does the smell spook them.

    I figured I would get some opinions on it.

    Of course they can...Always setup so the wind will blow from them to you...

    Yeah they can smell it, butI wouldn't think that it would scare them as much as human scent though.

    I am more amazed by how deer can use their noses to their advantage every single time I go out in the woods. Watch the wind...its a great line of defense.
