Default Deer biology: how many bucks can a doe give birth to?

Guys,

here is my question...

How many bucks can a doe give birth to in her lifetime?

Impossible to answer. However, I think the odds of having a male is just slightly higher than having a female. Usually you'll see a pair of fawns that are male/female.

Depends on how many times she bred ...and that depends on how good looking she is ;&gt)

Well she might just live 1 or 2 yrs with all the doe hunters on here! Her life can be real short.

ideally 14, with two a season and a eight year life span, yeah unlikely, but could happen, more likely around four to seven, one fawn a year, eight year life span

I'm not a deer biologist though so I could be way off.

Under ideal circumstances a doe will produce 3 fawns per year (not all years)and under ideal circumstances she can probably produce fawns at 12 or more years of age and I guess it is very possible that she could produce all buck fawns. I've seen numerous twin buck fawns. It seems the number could easily be over 20, but I honestly don't know what the maximum number could be.
