I've got a basic Garmin Etrex (The yellow one) It works good for me, most of the places I hunt at I know, but I still carry it just in case I get turned around. I just set my home point and I will never get lost. If I don't know the area I will be hunting I buy a map and use a compass on it.

I have a Magellan Sport Trak map and it's great. Before I bought it I did some research on a GSP forum and the debate between which is better seemed evenly split between the Garmin and Magellan. I don't think you can go wrong with either. I know I'd have lost my game cam by now If I didn't mark it with my GPS.
