My father's sister hunts, with my uncle, and more often than not, she is the one who brings the venison home. Both are great hunters; he uses a .30-06 and she shoots a .30-30 Marlin.

And, another note here--my wife, who I figure(d) would never be in the field, shocked the starch out of me, two weeks before our wedding, when she said, "I want to learn how to bowhunt." I had to hear that one two more times . . . I was that surprised.

It'll be a few more years before we get bows and bow licences, but it's nice to know that she supports me!

I wish my wife would hunt with me gut, she'll come out scouting with me ,but she doesnt have the heart to pull the trigger. She's seen me shoot deer and do what it takes to get them to the freezer, but she just doesnt want to hunt with me,or go herself.I think you are vary lucky to be able to hunt with the lady thats most important in your life.Good luck this season.

My wife hunts and has a serious blood-lust. She doesn't want to go after big game but if it flies then it dies as far as she is concerned. She can't wait for me to get home in the evenings to take over the kids so she and her dog can go for a little walk after some grouse. Right now she is worried that I'll spend two weekends elk hunting and she'll have one less weekend of bird hunting.

My wife did shoot 3D tournaments with me and did go with me two years ago on the first day of archery but did not actually hunt. Since we got married she does neither. But I can see that changing when my son gets bigger and wants to go with Daa Daa...

Doe Doe, i just wanted to say hello to another female member and say welcome to the board. It`s great to see some more women on the board , Lady Forge is here and a few others at times. It`s good to see more women talking about hunting. I have female friends but none that like to hunt that much let alone to talk hunting with. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts. Good luck in the hunting and be safe, Annie.

My wife and my son both enjoy hunting. My wife insists that she have her own stand and that she be allowed to hunt and have the same chance at game as I do. She has yet to take a deer but hopefully that will change on the opener of this years gun season (she has one she scouted out that she wants to take). I would not expect her to drag the deer out or even help because she is disabled(Broke her back several years ago). She does insist on helping me when I process the meat though. She has helped me gut, skin and do all sorts of other things that you would not expect. She loves the outdoors a much as I do(maybe more). Better than being my best/next best hunting pardner(have to include the boy), she is always buying me a new gun or some other item that I need/want for hunting. None of my other hunting pardners, excluding my Dad and uncles, have ever done this.

Yall get the picture.
